Dr Peter Sage

Peter graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1992 before completing physician training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and cardiology training at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 1998.

Peter then completed a PhD in cardiovascular pharmacology under Professors John Horowitz and Ivan de la Lande at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and was awarded the Ralph Reader (Young Investigator) Prize from the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand for this work.

In 2001, he received an RACP scholarship to undertake post-doctoral research in restenosis prevention following coronary angioplasty at the University of Sheffield. During this time he completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology.

On returning to Australia, Peter joined Adelaide Cardiology and was appointed Senior Cardiologist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Adelaide and continues to be involved in research in cardiovascular pharmacology as well as postgraduate training. In 2010, he was appointed to the position of Director of Cardiology at St Andrew's Hospital.

He is interested in all aspects of clinical cardiology with a particular interest in cardiovascular pharmacology and interventional cardiology.
